City Lights at 60: What Author Did You Discover at City Lights? Daphne Gottlieb Answers

Poet Daphne Gottlieb stopped by City Lights to discuss the author she discovered at City Lights, the author she calls a sort of “Holy Grail” . . .

Daphne Gottlieb stitches together the ivory tower and the gutter just using her tongue. She is the author and editor of nine award-winning books, including the book of poems 15 Ways to Stay Alive, and the nonfiction Dear Dawn: Aileen Wuornos in her Own Words.

Doomsday Honeymoon dropped out of obedience school when he was suspended for reading Howl under the bleachers during gym. The headmaster asked, What are you rebelling against? Doomsday said, What’ve you got?,  and sauntered out.
