Cedar Sigo is a San Franciscan poet, raised in Seattle, Washington. He was home schooled through much of his adolescence, later awarded a scholarship to study writing and poetics at the Naropa Institute, studying beat poets like Allen Ginsberg and Alice Notley. In 2003, Ugly Duckling Press published his Selected Writings, followed by Death Race V.S.O.P and Expensive Magic, and in 2010, City Lights published his book Stranger in Town in the Spotlight Series.
Cain’s Book is a novel by beat author Alexander Trocchi, published in the ’60s. Cain’s Book investigates the life of a heroin addict and author in New York. The novel brings the reader into the world of the junky: what it means to be one and society’s reactions. Much of the book revolves around the protesting of drug prohibition and world inequality.
