Banned Book! Ethan Nosowsky reading A Wrinkle in Time

Ethan Nosowsky is the Editorial Director at McSweeney’s, and previously was an editor at Graywolf Press and Farrar, Straus and Giroux.  He has edited books by Deborah Baker, David Byrne, Geoff Dyer, Stephen Elliott and many others.

A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L’Engle is a science fiction novel published in the ’60s. In this novel, a government scientist’s daughter goes missing after he works on a project called a tesseract.Reasons for banning include the book’s references to witches and crystal balls; it challenges religious beliefs; and the inclusion of Jesus amongst the names of great artists, scientists, etc.
