Banned Book! Stephen Elliott reading Catch-22

Read about the banned books project here.

Stephen Elliott is the author of seven books and an activist, living in San Francisco. He is Editor-in-Chief of the online literary magazine, The Rumpus and director of the new film About Cherry, starring James Franco and Heather Graham, and co-written by Lorelei Lee.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, remains a cornerstone of American literature and one of the funniest—and most celebrated—books of all time. Set in Italy during World War II, this is the story of the incomparable, malingering bombardier, Yossarian, a hero who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. Catch-22 was banned for its objectionable language and offensive material.
