Poem in Your Pocket Day by Our Friends & Followers

Today is Poem in Your Pocket Day! The idea is simple: select a poem you love during National Poetry Month then carry it with you to share with co-workers, family, friends, sexy strangers on the bus. On Twitter, people shared their #pocketpoem of choice with us! Of course, many chose poems from the Beats and the City Lights Pocket Poetry series:

… while others shared a range from Naomi Shihab Nye to Percy Bysshe Shelley (note the Kenneth Patchen tweet; would that fall under the Beats? Discuss…)

And for those with phones that are smart, some of you mentioned on the Facebook that you carried poems in your pantalones pockets that way! Smartypantalones.

Good job, internet!

And the day is still young–share your pocket poem in the comments. Our blog likes to be social, too.
